According to the CDC, there are many benefits to owning a pet.  Studies have shown that the bond between people and their pets can increase fitness, lower stress and bring happiness to their owners. See more here.

And it is February, so that brings us to Valentine’s Day.  Overall spending for Valentine’s Day in 2020 is projected to be up 32% over last year’s record to $ $27.4 billion. In fact, pets may be one of the biggest recipients of the increased spending as 27% of consumers said that they would spend money on their pets for the special day, up from 17% in 2010.  See more here.

I got Madison in 2009 and pioneered Doga.  I can indeed vouch for the increased interest in Doga Classes. We get requests for classes from all over the United States and even from as far away as Milan, Italy.

Pets give you comfort. As Wunderman explains, your dog loves you unconditionally, and hanging out with him or her increases the parasympathetic response… that’s when the body heals.  Perhaps this explains the uptick in wellness services designed to include your dog.  Read the article here.
