Lean In and Get a Patent

Lean In and Get a Patent

If you have a really good idea and you think it may be useful up to twenty years from now, perhaps you should consider getting your intellectual property patented. I have a patented alignment mat (www.yogaforce.com) and I did my first Podcast with my patent attorney, Annie Rogaski of HIP LEGAL in Cupertino, California (www.hiplegal.com)

Here, we discuss some pertinent information about patents and my crazy Bridget Jones experiences on the road from absolutely detesting yoga to loving it and making it part of my every day life. Hear my own story of getting out of alignment in a car accident in Los Angeles and fixing my own back to getting an interview with Kate Betts in TIME MAGAZINE. (https://www.yogaforce.com/media/)

During the interview I did confess to the crime of speeding down interstate 280 to seal the deal with my first corporate client in 2005, right before the mats came out. You also get the back story on YogaForce clothing and getting celebs excited about the product.

In Sheryl Sandberg tradition, Annie asks me about my own super power.  For those of you not familar, in addition to Sandberg’s role at Facebook, she also wrote a book called Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead, the book has been a bestseller since its launch in 2013.  The book has really influenced all the women on my team.  Everyday we are all learning to lean in and make things happen.

Here is the podcast, if you are a women entrepreneur you might find it helpful.  If you are interested in getting a patent you will find it educational:  https://hiplegal.com/podcast/a-legal-monopoly-and-guest-annie-appleby-ceo-of-yogaforce/
We will have new products out by Christmas, 2015, so check back!
