Cement and heights and narrow surfaces do not mix well with yoga! It freaked me out to realize that I could have fallen and landed on my head... Lights out. You can see that I am tentative in the pose. The mind/body connection really kicked in and got me off the ledge quickly and without incident. However, it did get me thinking about something really important: Integrative Medicine.

My father was with Macy’s San Francisco when I was growing up. I used to go with him to work and have The Shop On Union Square all to myself before the store opened on Saturday mornings. I was 14 when I got my first Yves Saint Laurent. I was 98 pounds, and I loved this wonderful little black backless number. I came home and modeled it for my mom. I remember her exact words. “Well, that is going right back.” I was so disappointed. But, she did have a point, it was not age appropriate.
